A JAGUAR famous for patrolling the streets of Oxford will be at Blenheim Palace this weekend. Inspector Morse’s iconic car is part of an exhibition of props and memorabilia from shows filmed at the Woodstock stately home.
It is also part of the first Oxfordshire Big Day Out tomorrow. The palace was used as a set in a 1995 episode of Morse and has also featured in the spin-off series Lewis.
Students from Our Lady’s Abingdon visited the stately home yesterday as the car was being set up for the weekend display.
Freya Studdy, 16, of Witney, said: “It was really amazing to see something so iconic in person. I watch Morse a lot so it was absolutely amazing to see the Jaguar. Everyone was captivated.”
Head of geography Amy Rankine, 28, said: “Myself and the other teacher enjoyed it, but we had to explain who Inspector Morse was.”
More than 20 tours and attractions are taking part in the Big Day Out, including Christ Church, Sulgrave Manor, Didcot Railway Centre and Cotswold Wildlife Park.
