People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in Oxfordshire recently:

Michael Thompson, 25, of Bartlett Close, Witney, admitted assault by beating in Magdalen Street, Oxford, on May 14. Community order made with 10-day activity requirement, 12-month supervision requirement and 180 hours of unpaid work. Told to pay £150 compensation and £150 costs.

Patrick James, 59, of no fixed abode, admitted destroying a picture frame worth £10 and using threatening, insulting or abusive words or behaviour on February 15 in the Abingdon Surgery. Given six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £15 victims’ surcharge.

Kayhan Kalay, 29, of Lakefield Road, Oxford, admitted two counts of assault by beating on February 15 in Oxford. Restraining order made preventing contact with victim. Fined £500 and told to pay £50 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Simon Moore, 38, of George Street, Bicester, admitted stealing meat and drink worth £42.83 from Tesco in Sheep Street, Bicester, on September 1 and stealing Lego toys worth £19 from the same shop on October 3. Fined £60, £19 compensation, £15 victims’ surcharge and £20 costs.

Jakub Mucha, 27, of Trevor Place, Oxford, convicted of driving without a valid MoT test certificate, driving without insurance and driving without a licence in Cowley Road, Oxford, in 2008. Given 12-month conditional discharge, six points on driving licence and told to pay £85 costs.
