COURT cases dealt with recently by Oxford magistrates:

  • Joseph Paily, 41, of Joan Lawrence Place, Headington, Oxford, admitted driving without due care and attention in The Slade, Oxford, on December 10 last year. Fined £100 and told to pay £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Three points on licence.
  • John Pugsley, 34, of Rowland Close, Wolvercote, Oxford, admitted drink driving and driving without insurance in Marsh Lane, Oxford, on February 14. Had 95 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the legal limit of 35. Fined £600 and told to pay £300 compensation, £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Given 24-month driving ban.
  • Stephen Buckle, 52, of Thames View, Abingdon, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, and stealing groceries worth £4.58 from a Co-op in Bury Street, Abingdon, on November 23 last year. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £15 victims’ surcharge.
