Until January it was a bike and car accessories shop. Then it was going to be a Waitrose.
Now it’s going to be a charity shop, at least on a short term basis.
It’s been an increasingly bizarre ride for West Oxford’s most prominent eyesore, the former Halfords/MFI building on Botley Road.
We will have to wait a little bit longer until we can buy Heston Blumenthal’s latest goodies on the way to the train station.
Local people will say something is better than nothing. Even if the building is a little too big for a charity shop, hopefully it will all raise money for a good cause.
At least it will give drivers stuck in the endless Botley Road traffic jams something different to gaze at out of their windows.
