A-Levels: Perseverence through pain pays off for Cooper School pupil
4:00pm Saturday 17th August 2013 in News
SAVANNAH Seger went through more than most teenagers to get her A-Level results this week.
The pupil at Bicester's Cooper School has juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and suffered a major setback earlier this year when the condition flared up and she had to miss lots of school.
Her legs swelled up and she could not walk upstairs or hold a pen.
She spent months in and out of hospital while doctors tried to get her medication right.
But her perseverance paid off and she achieved two A grades in Art and English Literature, and B in Psychology. She plans to study English Literature at Sussex University, in Brighton.
She said: “I have come through so much to study for this.
“It was my biggest moment, that’s why I’m so proud of myself.”
