Grafitti art outside nightclub divides opinions
10:30am Wednesday 28th August 2013 in News
GRAFFITI often divides opinion, and a new piece painted on the front of Clems nightclub in St Clement’s Street, Oxford, is no different.
City councillor Graham Jones said he had received six complaints from people since it was created last week.
Mr Jones said: “It may well be an innocent attempt to advertise, but people are saying it’s an eyesore.
“I can’t believe this was given the go-ahead – I shall be pressing for the owners to be told to undo this monstrosity.”
But Keith Hyde, 59, manager of Sobell House Hospice Bookshop in St Clement’s, said: “I think it’s quite an impressive display.”
Clems owner Luis Carrera said: “I simply wanted to make the place look happier.”
