83-year-old man dies after falling into brook in Eynsham

THE death of a man who fell into a brook in Eynsham yesterday is not being treated as suspicious.
The 83-year-old fell into the water near the sports pavilion off Oxford Road at 3.20pm.
The Chill Brook, a tributary of the River Thames, runs next to the sports ground.
The man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Det Sgt Kerry O'Leary said: "At this stage the matter is being treated as an unexplained death but is not thought to be suspicious and will now be passed to the coroner.
"We have spoken to a number of witnesses, however anyone who has any information and has not yet spoken to police should call me on 101."
