Clash scuppers show
11:00am Saturday 31st August 2013 in News
An Oxfordshire village has had to cancel its annual horse and dog show tomorrow for the first time in 33 years.
Ewelme, near Wallingford, which was used for filming scenes in the Les Miserables movie, had to cancel the show after only 18 people signed up to take part.
Organiser Robert Ayling said another riding club had rescheduled their horse show for the same date.
Mr Ayling, 63, said: “This is the first time we have had to cancel the show in 33 years and it’s really disappointing. In the past we have had 300 entries in the horse event and 240 in the dog classes.”
