NOBODY else seemed to have a chance against seven-year-old Megan Pike at the Wootton-by-Woodstock village flower show and fun day.

Megan scooped first prizes in the children’s running race, egg and spoon race, golf, and third prize in the vegetable animal category of the flower show on Saturday.

Megan’s aunt, Susie Smith, from Wootton-by-Woodstock, took her niece and nephew – four-year-old Ollie Pike – to the annual event in the gardens of Wootton Place.

She said: “It was brilliant, it was a really fun afternoon. Most of the village was there and the sunshine made it all the better.

“We were looking at all the exhibitions and the kids joined in some of the races.”

As well as proving herself in sports, Megan managed to bag a 50p prize for her vegetable bunny.

Megan said: “I made it with carrots and apples and tomatoes and two raisins, with a cotton wool bottom.

“And I played in the garden where you had the game with the hammer and you have to hit it to reach the bell, and I was in the races.”

Hundreds of people turned out for the afternoon from 2pm until 4.30pm.
