‘Old moles’ surface for reunion joy
7:00am Thursday 5th September 2013 in News
THERE was lots of reminiscing at a Moulsford Preparatory School “old moles” reunion.
John Romans and Robert Lester had not seen each other since they were schoolboys in the 60s.
Mr Lester, 59, of Wallingford, who left in 1967 and sent his two sons to the school, said it was “terrific” to see the school in “clearly good order”.
Mr Romans made his first visit to the school since he left in 1964.
He said: “It was a pleasure to see the essence of Moulsford had not changed but had just grown and developed.”
The school opened in 1961 with just a few dozen pupils.
Today more than 300 boys aged four to 11 attend. Activities at the reunion included tennis, swimming, a tour of the school and a pig roast dinner for 150.
