Detailed plans for a new £100m Botley shopping centre and cinema complex will be revealed this month.
Dates for the second round of consultations about the redevelopment of West Way shopping centre were announced yesterday.
Developer Doric Properties plans to build a six-screen cinema, restaurants, shops, student flats, homes, a community hall and library on the site.
Simon Hillcox, of Doric Properties, said: “We propose to have a piazza at the centre of the scheme, which will act as a focal point for the area, surrounded by local retailers providing a space for community events or a farmer’s market.
“I would encourage as many people as possible from across Botley and the surrounding area to attend.”
After a first round of consultations in February, more detailed architect’s designs and building plans will go on display from September 19 until September 21 at the Botley Baptist Church in Westminster Way.
The public exhibition will run from 4pm until 8pm on Thursday, September 19, from 4pm until 8pm on Friday, September 20, and from 11am until 3pm on Saturday, September 21.
A West Way Community Concern group was formed by Botley residents this year to communicate local worries about the proposed plans., which include demolishing a care home, Doric hopes to submit a planning application for the site to Vale of White Horse District Council later of this year.
