Blenheim Palace literary festival promises to be a hit
9:20am Wednesday 18th September 2013 in News
A HOST of famous authors will be descending on Woodstock today.
The Blenheim Palace Literary Festival will kick off with a talk by Rick Stein, one of Britain’s best known chefs, about his memoirs Under a Mackerel Sky in St Mary Magdalene Church this afternoon.
Other writers attending include former prime minister Sir John Major, who has written a book about his father and the history of the music hall, and journalist Max Hastings.
Festival vice chairman Jill Dunsmore said: “We are very excited about this year’s festival. We have a fantastic programme, better than we have ever had.
“The palace is a gorgeous venue.”
Sir John will be joined at Blenheim by writers Ben Okri, Arne Dahl, Lucy Worsley and Ruth Rendell.
The festival will run until Sunday at a number of venues in Woodstock and the palace itself.
