CHEF and TV personality Rick Stein discussed his upbringing, family and food at the Blenheim Palace Literary Festival at Woodstock yesterday.
Mr Stein, brought up near Woodstock, was interviewed by presenter and writer Paul Blezard about his new memoir, Under a Mackerel Sky.
The chef talked about his time at Oxford University, his ill-fated nightclub in Cornwall and his eventual success as a chef, writer and broadcaster.
He has presented several BBC TV series on food and cookery.
Festival vice chairman Jill Dunsmore said: “Rick Stein was very well received.
“He has such a nice touch with people.”
The festival, which runs until Sunday, will also feature former Prime Minister Sir John Major and journalist Max Hastings.
