Ahoy there! It’s time for pirate talk
10:00am Thursday 19th September 2013 in News
SHIVER me timbers.
Staff at the New Theatre, Oxford donned pirate costumes in preparation of International Talk like a Pirate Day today.
The day is a worldwide celebration of talking like pirates and was started for fun in 1995.
New Theatre staff were also promoting the English National Ballet’s production of a pirate ballet, Le Corsaire, which opens at the theatre at the end of next month.
Craig Russell, group sales and marketing assistant, said it was fabulous to dress up.
He said: “We were really excited and it was a really fun way to promote the new show.”
Joining Mr Russell, top, were, from left, box office assistant Kate Johnson, front of house Christopher Willmott and Kayleigh James, from the box office.
