Countries fail to pay their way over Syria

Research carried out by Cowley-based charity Oxfam shows France, Qatar, Russia are all giving less than half of their share of aid to wartorn Syria.
In June the UN launched a £3bn humanitarian appeal for Syria, the largest ever in its history, but this remains just 44 per cent funded.
Oxfam has shown that while the UK is giving 154 per cent of its share of aid, calculated as a proportion of national income and wealth, other countries are giving much less.
Qatar and Russia have just three per cent of their share towards the rescue effort.
