Circus pinpoints new way to bring art to the masses
11:00am Saturday 21st September 2013 in News
THE circus has come to town in an attempt to bring art to the masses.
Oxford Arts Circus has been founded to bring art out of its stuffy, elite world and into a more accessible environment.
Part-exhibition and part-performance, the circus features work by around 30 artists – some working in traditional mediums and others in more left-field work. Founder Kirini Kopcke said: “It is about trying to find a new way of showing and sharing art.
“The project is basically seeking a way to make art more affordable and accessible to a more diverse audience than it currently is.”
Oxford Arts Circus takes place at Fusion Arts at the East Oxford Community Centre in Princes Street until tomorrow.
