WHEN Radiohead guitarist Colin Greenwood appears on stage, he is probably used to bigger venues than Kennington Village Hall.

But on Saturday, the former Abingdon School pupil came to the village to talk about the charity Children’s Radio Foundation (CRF), of which he is a patron.

The charity, which uses radio training and broadcast to create opportunities for community building and youth work in Africa, is being supported by Kennington Overseas Aid.

Mr Greenwood was interviewed by 17-year-old Matthew Arnold School pupil Naiha Masih, telling the 100 people in attendance about his time in the band and his experiences in Africa with CRF.

Naiha said: “It went really well. It felt quite surreal to interview him but it was a good experience. He was really friendly and down to earth.”

The interview was followed by a performance from Kennington children’s choir Music Mayhem.
