MAKING art in the woods rocks.
The Friends of Magdalen Wood, Wood Farm, Oxford, have created a decorative spiral among the trees to beautify the woodland scene.
On Sunday, children of the group left offerings to the wood fairies on the spiral in the form of nuts, fruits and leaves found in the woods.
George O’Connor, five who joined in the ritual with his big brother Dylan Mockridge, 11, said: “We were making it look nice for everybody in Wood Farm.”
The Friends of Magdalen Wood installed the stone spiral the weekend before.
Last year they built a wooden seating area out of material found in Magdalen Wood.
George’s mum Jenny O’Connor, 41, is the group’s treasurer, and sells cakes to raise money for the group.
She said: “We do it to have a bit of fun in places like that where there’s not much for people to do.”
She said about 15 mums, dads and children got involved with creating the stone installation.
