EUROPE’S longest street fair returned to Abingdon last night.
Visitors from near and far wandered through more than a mile of rides, stalls and games, including Waltzers and a carousel.
Bob Wilson, who organises the event, said: “We’ve got over a mile of rides – 25 big rides, 20 medium rides and loads more.”
The fair ends tonight.
Abingdon mayor Sam Bowring spoke to the Oxford Mail just before going down with her 11-year-old daughter Emma Fawcett.
She said: “It’s different every year but it’s always exciting.
“When it starts getting dark and the fair is all lit up, it looks gorgeous. Emma will be taking me on as many rides as we can afford. It’s always good fun – she likes to test my limits.”
The fair has brought fun to Abingdon since the 14th century.
