A 60-YEAR-OLD woman was shot in the backside as she walked along the Thames Path.

Police said a man and a boy were seen holding a long-barrelled gun before the assault on the path between Appleford, near Didcot and Culham, near Abingdon.

The victim was with another woman when she saw the man and boy on the other side of the river.

The women then heard a noise which sounded like a gun being fired and police said one of them felt a “sharp pain” and turned to see the two suspects walking away towards a silver pick-up truck before driving off towards the B4106.

The victim did not suffer any injuries or damage to her clothing.

The crime happened at about 10.15am on Saturday, October 5, but police only released the details yesterday.

Thames Valley Police described the man suspect as white, 6ft tall, and of medium build.

He was wearing a navy T-shirt. The boy was described as white, aged between 12 and 14, about 5ft 5ins tall and wearing a light blue t-shirt.

Call police on 101.
