LITTLE persuasion is usually required to enjoy the sweet delights of chocolate.
But with it being National Chocolate Week this week, there is no excuse not to.
Armand Dubert, chef at Summertown’s Gatineau, said: “It is a pleasure to work with something you like to eat.”
Company director Fabien Gautier, who is originally from France but now lives in Stratford-upon-Avon, said: “Chocolate is nice to eat and you can do something really beautiful with it.”
The Banbury Road patisserie sells hand-made sweet and savoury delicacies, premium cakes, pastries, savouries and bread.
Chocolate week is also being marked at The Trout Inn at Tadpole Bridge in Faringdon.
Head chef Pascal Clavaud has created a selection of dishes especially for the week, which finishes on Sunday.
Dishes include a platter of Divine Chocolate puddings, including chocolate and chestnut sponge pudding, chocolate and rum tart, and chocolate mint iced truffle with salted caramel brittle.
