‘Tache up to razor-wareness of men’s health
11:00am Friday 1st November 2013 in News
IT’S time to dust off your wet shaving kit and moustache comb, gents – Movember is back – to raise awarnes of men’s health issues.
Men across Oxfordshire will be finding out what they look like with a moustache for the cause of men’s health.
Last year, more than a million “mo bros” with the help of “mo sistas” around the world shirked shaving and helped raise £92m for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health.
This year, Didcot barber Gareth Clark, pictured, with colleagues Kate Storch and “mo guinea pig” Gareth Clark, has the prestigious title of Movember Rated Barber, one of just 50 in the UK approved by the Movember organisers. He will be leading a team of eight moustache-growers and offering free ‘tache trims throughout the month.
“I did it last year,” said Mr Clark, 42, of Wallingford, “and it helps raise awareness. “I had people asking me what it was for and so you start talking about it.”
