A 24-year-old motorcyclist is critically ill in hospital after a crash with a van on the A40 between Witney and Oxford.

The Kidlington man, who was riding a red Yamaha scooter, suffered serious injuries when he was in a collision with a white Toyota Hiace van, on the eastbound road between Minster Lovell and Ducklington on Tuesday at about 5.10pm.

The 29-year-old van driver, from Horton-cum-Studley, was not injured. Police are appealing for witnesses to call Pc Sian Pringle on 101.
