ALL things green and ethically-sourced were celebrated at an annual Christmas fair at Oxford Town Hall.

The Oxford Green Fair 2013 took place on Saturday and featured 100 stalls, as well as a Green Father Christmas.

It was billed as an opportunity to find ethical Christmas presents, including food, clothing and crafts, and to gather information about eco-projects in the city.

Organiser Bob Cowley, who dressed as the Green Father Christmas, said: “It went very well indeed.

Everyone had a great time.

“The event has a fundraising element for the Oxfordshire Green Party, but it is also a networking event because it brings people together who have common ideas and visions and, also, it is a great place to get Christmas presents that you know are ethically-sourced and produced with the right attitude.”

Mr Cowley started dressing as the Green Father Christmas six years ago and, as well as fitting the theme of the event, it aims to remind people that Father Christmas was portrayed as wearing green clothing in England before the 20th century.
