RAF Brize Norton to aid African mission
Personnel from RAF Brize Norton will fly equipment to the Central African Republic as part of an international mission.
The United Nations Security Council authorised the support, led by African Union and French forces, in order to protect civilians and restore public order.
Foreign Secretary William Hague said C-17 transport aircraft, which are based at RAF Brize Norton, will be used to transport French equipment to the country.
He said three flights will take place this month. The first landed on Friday.
The UK has already donated £15m in aid to the Central African Republic, which has been hit by sectarian violence after rebels seized power in March.
