A YOUNG engineer and award-winning film-maker has been remembered as “full of life” after his death in an A40 crash.

Wilson Lau died last week after his scooter was involved in a collision with a van on the eastbound road between Minster Lovell and Ducklington.

The 24-year-old, from Kidlington, was on his way home from work when the accident happened on Tuesday last week at about 5.10pm.

He died of his injuries at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital two days later.

Mr Lau had worked at protective headwear firm JSP Ltd in Minster Lovell since July.

Chief executive Mark Johnstone said: “He was a fabulous guy, full of life and positive energy, always with a radiant smile, ready and willing to help everyone.

“He did some very useful and innovative work even in the relatively short time he was with us.

“He had so much ahead of him and we will miss him dearly.”

Originally from Hong Kong, Mr Lau was a former Gosford Hill School pupil, and Oxford & Cherwell Valley College student, and had also studied at University College London (UCL).

He won an award in Hong Kong for his film work and was a member of the UCL TV and Film society.

He set up a video production company called the Dimensions Crew in 2010 while at university.

JSP company secretary Adriana Payne said the firm was preparing a book of condolences.

Friend Efa Blosse-Mason, 17, from Cardiff, acted in Mr Lau’s film Charlotte Holmes in 2011.

She said: “He was the most light-hearted, humorous and yet determined person.

“He was someone who would have ideas and act on them, no matter how crazy other people might think them.”

Anyone with information about the collision should call police on 101.
