Witney MP and Prime Minister David Cameron said it was “simply unacceptable” that MPs could get an 11 per cent pay rise, hours before a report is published today.
Speaking in the House of Commons yesterday during Prime Minister’s Questions, he said: “I think it would be wrong for MPs to get a big pay rise at a time of public sector pay restraint.”
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority is due to make recommendations today to increase members’ salaries by £7,600 after the 2015 General Election.
