This year’s senior citizen’s film festival will be the biggest yet says Jeremy Smith, features editor of the Oxford Mail.
“In addition to the free teas, coffees, mince pies and fantastic prizes on offer courtesy of Sainsbury’s Kidlington and Westgate, the three films we’re actually screening this time ‘round are truly spectacular,” he said.
“And since all are book adaptions of classic novels which, by themselves are literary juggernauts, it’s really no surprise.
“Life of Pi, The Great Gatsby and Les Miserables are all stories that demand spectacle and majesty, and without fail, each one delivers.”
The festival kicks off at the Phoenix picturehouse cinema on Monday with the Life of Pi at 11am.
Entry is a copy of Monday’s Oxford Mail.
