THE temperature outside might be falling but inside Oxford Ice Rink things were hotting up over the weekend. International, national and local skating champions gathered to take part in the city’s annual Christmas Ice Show.
About 160 skaters took part in two shows on Saturday and Sunday, which had a theme of Fairy Tales on Ice.
The show was produced by Oxford Ice Rink and local skate coaches Jane de Lange, Sue Hands and Alison Morrell. Ms Morrell said: “It has gone brilliantly. We have been preparing for this for 24 hours a day for three months.”
About 100 local skaters from Oxford Junior Figure Club and the Oxford Ice Rink took part, as well as skating stars such as 2010 British champion David Richardson.
