An inquest into the death of an Oxford University student was opened yesterday.
Andrew Kirkman, a 20-year-old physics and philosophy student at Balliol College, was discovered in a tent on Port Meadow on Sunday, December 8.
The court was told Mr Kirkman, of Marlborough Road, South Oxford, was found in the one-man tent by a member of the public shortly after noon.
A police officer described a smell of eggs and there was a “washing up bowl” with what is thought to have been hydrogen sulphide.
The inquest was adjourned to a later date yet to be confirmed.
