One enterprising customer used a canoe to get to the pub after roads flooded.
The Fishes in North Hinksey Village remained open, but the pub garden was flooded.
Owain Jones, general manager, said one of their customers had kayaked to the pub and added: “This seems as bad as 2007 now. If we get more rain, it is going to be interesting.”
The Perch pub in Binsey was shut yesterday because the lane leading to the village was flooded.
