The deputy leader of Oxfordshire County Council has offered advice to drivers attempting to negotiate flooded roads.
Rodney Rose said: “We would advise motorists to take extra care on the roads, and if in any doubt, not to drive through flood water. We give advice of this nature not just with the safety of motorists in mind – it also a question of not creating bow waves that cause problems for nearby properties.”
An Environment Agency spokesman added: “Stay away from dangerous flood water. It contains hidden dangers.”
