People convicted of offences at Oxford Magistrates' Court recently:

  • Stephen Rushmer, 49, of no fixed address, admitted being drunk and disorderly in George Street, Oxford, on December 16. Fined £50 and ordered to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  • Geoffrey Bennett, 49, of no fixed address, admitted assaulting a police constable in the execution of their duty and being drunk and disorderly in a public place in Cowley Road, Oxford, on November 10. Also admitted using violence to gain entry to a premises in Cowley Road, Oxford, on November 28. Community order made with drug rehabilitation requirement for six months and supervision requirement.
  • John Loveridge, 23, of Sandford-on-Thames, near Oxford, admitted causing criminal damage worth £250 to a front door and breaching a restraining order through harrassment in Horspath Road, Oxford, on November 18. Given a 10-week prison sentence because violence was used to breach a recently-made restraining order and children were in the property. Told to pay £250 compensation.
  • Brian Mcaloon, 33, of Wilsham Road, Abingdon, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Abingdon on November 22. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Wayne Huggins, 30, of Field Avenue, Blackbird Leys, admitted stealing food worth £8.43 from the Co-op in Templars Square, Cowley, on September 27. Also admitted failing to surrender to magistrates on October 14 and committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge made on September 24 for theft. Community order made with a drug rehabilitation requirement and a 12-month supervision requirement.
  • Michael Hogan, 23, of The Park, Harwell, Didcot, admitted assault in Westfield, Harwell, on December 8. Also admitted assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty on November 1. Given an eight-week prison sentence because the assault was on his mother, was a breach of trust and involved a knife.
  • Joanne Webb, 37, of Foresters Tower, Wood Farm Road, Headington, admitted stealing food worth £6 from Poundland on December 13 and alcohol worth £77 from Waitrose in Oxford on November 22. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a community order made on September 9 for nine counts of theft. Community order made with six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and supervision requirement.
  • Christopher Jeffrey, 21, of Hannis Road, Chipping Norton, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Chipping Norton on November 22. Fined £166 and told to pay a £20 victims' surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Lee Davis, 32, of James Street, Oxford, admitted stealing clothes worth £20 from Primark on December 10. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence made by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on September 26. Given a two-month prison sentence.
  • John Harty, 54, of Sheriffs Drive, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, on November 11 in Oxford. Fined £75 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £25 costs.
  • Keith Birch, 34, Barleyfields, Didcot, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order made by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on October 22 by being absent from the place of the curfew during its hours. Fined £50 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs.
  • Stacey Daniels, 32, of Wessex Road, Didcot, admitted stealing eight joints of beef worth £80 from the Co-op in Didcot on December 23. Also admitted stealing meat, alcohol and other food items worth £199.10 from the BP Express shop in Milton Heights, Abingdon, on December 30. Given a 16-week prison sentence because they were described as professional offences and items were stolen to sell to buy drugs. Also because she has 133 previous offences.
  • Sean White, 36, of Coltsfoot Square, Oxford, admitted stealing a jacket worth £144.99 from Superdry in St Ebbs Street, Oxford on September 5. Fined £90 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £150 costs.
  • Lloyd Beddoe, 24, of Osney Lane, Oxford, admitted possession of cannabis, a Class B drug, in Oxford on November 27. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  • William Brown, 20, of Sherbourne Road, Witney, admitted possession of cocaine, a Class A drug, in Park End Street, Oxford on November 9. Fined £220, a £22 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Tim Caswell, 45, of Briary Way, Carterton, admitted drink-driving in Osney Lane, Oxford, on December 12. Had 57 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Also admitted driving without insurance. Fined £100, a £20 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 12 months.
  • Michael Goldsmith, 40, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted damaging a BMW 1 Series in Old Marston, Oxford, on December 11. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £250 compensation.
  • David Tunnah, 23, of Spenlove Close, Abingdon, admitted driving while disqualified in East St Helen Street, Abingdon, on December 11. Also admitted driving without insurance. Fined £400, a £40 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
  • Jason El’Issa, 26, of Morrell Avenue, Oxford, admitted possession of cannabis, a Class B drug, in Warneford Lane, Oxford, on September 22. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Priscilla Flaherty, 25, of Hollow Way, Cowley, admitted shoplifting food and deodorant worth £13.19 from Co-op in Templars Square, Cowley, on December 12. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  • Stephen Hiscock, 36, of Middle Close, Woodcote, admitted a non-dwelling burglary in High Street, Nettlebed, near Henley-on-Thames, on November 6. Also admitted committing a further offence while subject to a community order made on September 5 by Oxford Magistrates’ Court for assault by beating. Community order made with domestic violence programme requirement, supervision requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work. Told to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Terrance Collett, 69, of North Place, Headington, Oxford admitted assault by beating in Wards Caravan Site, Marston, Oxford on November 20. Community order made with a 12-week curfew requirement. Restraining order also made. Told to pay a £60 victim’s surcharge and £85 costs.
