AS AN introduction to learning about India this term, school children were given a taste of the subject.

Year six pupils from Bure Park School, in Lucerne Avenue, were invited to sample the menu at restaurant Arzoo, in Market Square, Bicester.

The experience was part of an introduction to the new term project, where pupils will be learning about India.

Restaurant owner Arzoo Miah laid on a three-course meal for the youngsters including onion bhajis, chicken tikka, lamb shish kebabs, poppadums, various curries and rices and naan breads.

Teacher Kerry Wells said: “The staff really could not have been more helpful and hospitable.

“The children thoroughly enjoyed it and it was fantastic to see many of them trying different foods and flavours.

“At Bure Park we feel it is important to provide vibrant and meaningful learning experiences for children and this was one way of bringing our topic to life.”
