An inquest into the death of a 73-year-old cyclist who died in floodwater was opened and adjourned yesterday.
Ian Taylor, of Abbey Road, West Oxford, died after falling while trying to ride through the water in Godstow Road, Wytham, on January 8. He was airlifted to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital, where he died.
Oxfordshire Coroner’s Court heard the retired management consultant’s cause of death was drowning attributed to coronary heart disease. A full inquest will be held later.
