A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter yesterday after the death of a 27-year-old woman in Banbury.
Police were called to the Dover Avenue property at just before 5pm on Wednesday.
The ambulance service found the woman, named locally as Anne-Marie Gale “unresponsive”. She was taken to Horton Hospital where she later died.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman confirmed the victim and arrested man were known to each other.
A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: “It’s shocking especially on your doorstep.”
Police said the death was being treated as “unexplained” and the man was still in custody as we went to press.
