DELAYS on Botley Road, Oxford are to set to continue through the weekend for investigations into an electrical fault.

Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) says its engineers are still searching for a cable fault that led to a power cut for 70 homes in the area, restored yesterday morning.

Digging work at the junction with Ferry Hinksey Road began on Tuesday morning with temporary traffic lights, causing delays.

The company has said engineers are working from about 7am each day until 9pm at night not “throughout the night” as it previously stated. The firm apologised.

The firm said this would cause noise disruption to neighbours.
