WANTAGE MP Ed Vaizey met transport minister Baroness Kramer to call for a railway station to be reopened at Grove.
On Monday Mr Vaizey also met representatives from South Oxfordshire District Council and Oxfordshire County Council.
He said: “In the longer term, there is no doubt that a railway station in the Grove and Wantage area would be of enormous economic benefit.
“I hope that this can be part of plans for the further development of our local transport infrastructure.”
He also pressed for improvements to Didcot Parkway Station where the forecourt area is due for redevelopment soon.
Mr Vaizey said: “Didcot Parkway is the key rail hub in the constituency and is vital in supporting the very important science parks at Harwell, Culham and Milton Park.
“It is essential that as the sites expand and more housing is provided... there is capacity at Didcot Parkway to provide the transport local residents and businesses need.
“I urged the minister and her officials to ensure that every priority is given to the plans being put forward by our local councils.”
