PHOTOGRAPHERS are being invited to capture the best parts of West Oxfordshire in an annual competition.

In its fifth year, the contest is organised by the district council, which says it is looking for snaps that show what a fantastic area it is.

People have until March 31 to send their pictures in, and the winner will receive a canvas of their image and afternoon tea for two at the Wedgwood Lodge at Heythrop Park.

Top entries will also be used in council leaflets and at the website oxfordshirecotswolds.org.

Amateur photographer Paul Chapman, from Enstone, won last year’s competition with a picture of a postbox in Cleveley.

Cllr Richard Langridge, who is responsible for tourism, said: “West Oxfordshire is a beautiful part of England with stunning countryside and traditional buildings and historic towns. We’re looking for images that really get to the heart of West Oxfordshire and capture what it has to offer, to help us show everyone just what a fantastic place this is.”
