Actress Scarlett Johansson has quit as an ambassador for Oxfam following criticism over her role for the company SodaStream.
Miss Johansson, right, became the first global brand ambassador for SodaStream International in January, which has a large factory in an Israeli settlement in the West Bank.
A spokesman for Oxfam said: “We are proud of our relationship with Scarlett Johansson who has worked with Oxfam since 2005. However, Oxfam believes that businesses that operate in settlements further the ongoing poverty and denial of rights of the Palestinian communities that we work to support.”
