WORK by artists including Picasso, Chagall and Matisse has gone on show at an Oxford art gallery.
About 40 paintings, drawings and etchings are on show at the Aidan Meller Gallery in High Street until the end of the month.
The works in the exhibition, called The Rise of Paris, are all for sale and range in price from £850 to £45,000.
Mr Meller said: “We specialise in paintings from 1880 to 1970 and one of the biggest sources is 1920s Paris, with Miro, Picasso, Chagall and Matisse.
“There was an incredible range of innovation.
“These paintings, drawings and original etchings have just gone on display and will stay on display for the rest of February.
“Our biggest source is private collectors.”
- A second exhibition, Queen Victoria’s Artists, with works by John Everett Millais, is taking place at the firm’s gallery in Broad Street until March 3.
