CLOTHING chain H&M will open its new Oxford branch early next month, the firm announced.

The company said it will open the 3,000 sq mt, three-floor store on Thursday, March 6, at 11am in the Clarendon Centre.

Customers who arrive in time will be given a wristband entitling them to 25 per cent off products for the day.

It will open in a new extension to the shopping centre and a local band and DJs will welcome shoppers over the weekend.

Carlos Duarte, H&M’s country manager for the UK and Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be opening our first store in the charming, historical city of Oxford this spring.

“With access to such diverse customers, including students and tourists as well as local residents, we believe we can offer something for everyone.”

The firm has stores in Witney and Banbury and the Oxford branch will be the first branch outside London to stock H&M Home for children.

It has created about 60 full- and part-time jobs.
