AROUND 150 mourners gathered today for the funeral of Jayden Parkinson whose body was discovered in a Didcot cemetery.

The hour-long service took place at St Martin's Church in Cheriton, near the 17-year-old’s her former hometown of Folkestone in Kent.

Jayden's body was discovered in Great Western Cemetery, next to All Saints Church in Didcot, on 18 December.

Reverend Karen Beck, from All Saint’s Church, has been supporting her family and attended the  funeral.

She said: “Her mum and sister made two very moving tributes to her during the service.

“It was very emotional, obviously, because of the tragic circumstances of her death, but it went very well.”

Jayden’s ex-boyfriend, Ben Blakeley, 22, of Reading, has been charged with her murder.

Mr Blakeley, of Christchurch Road, and a 17-year-old boy from Didcot have also been charged with perverting the course of justice.
