OXFORDSHIRE Fire & Rescue Service has set up a ‘Gold Command’ team to prepare for further flooding.
The county’s senior fire officers have met to put in place emergency flood plans.
With more rain expected in the coming days, areas along the River Thames are on amber alert and the Environment Agency expects them to flood.
Yesterday a spokeswoman for the fire service said crews had been making general patrols and monitoring river levels, especially in the south of the county, over the weekend.
She said: “We are just preparing for the worst.”
