Those living in Earl Street and Botley Road, Oxford, last night said they were having problems with sewage water in their properties.
Resident Andy Webber, 61, who lives in Earl Street, said: “It’s foul water – the back of the properties are awash with sewage. There’s sewage in my bathroom.”
Simon Evans, a Thames Water spokesman said flood water entering the sewers was causing the problem. He said: “The sewage network is designed only to take waste water from households and businesses, not rivers too.”
