RESIDENTS saw red at the Wantage Residential and Nursing Home to support the British Heart Foundation on Friday.

To celebrate Ramp Up the Red – BHF’s national annual fundraising drive – residents and staff dressed in red, ate red foods and decorated red cupcakes.

Home manager Samantha Bell said: “The BHF is a charity which is very close to our hearts here at Wantage and we were thrilled to show our support.”

Residents had jam tarts and decorated cupcakes with red icing while the home was decked out in red balloons and bunting.

Ms Bell added: “A fabulous time was had by all – everyone made lots of effort dressing in their finest red attire and residents particularly enjoyed their red-themed cupcake making.”

Resident Pam Haines, 94, said: “I had a wonderful time and I really enjoyed seeing everyone looking so lovely dressed up in red.”
