A VAN driver has been airlifted to hospital after he was involved in an accident with a HGV in Milton Road, Didcot.
Firefighters released the man from his vehicle using hydraulic cutting gear and he has been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said they received a call at 4.50pm and three fire engines, from Abingdon, Didcot and Kidlington, were sent to the scene before leaving at 6.30pm.
Thames Valley Police are reported to have closed the road during the incident and an air ambulance was called.
The lorry driver is not reported to have sustained any injuries.
