DRAYSON Racing Technologies, of Kidlington, has enjoyed a successful start to 2014, honoured with awards recognising recent achievements in motorsport and the development of electric vehicle technology.

The company was presented with the Motorsport Industry Association’s (MIA) Business Excellence for Technology & Innovation Award at the MIA Business Excellence Awards dinner, and company founder Lord Drayson was a keynote speaker at the MIA International Low Carbon Racing Conference.

Drayson Racing Technologies has also won Race Engine Technology magazine’s ‘Alternative Power Race Engine of the Year’ award for 2013, for its outstanding pioneering achievements with the Drayson B12 69 EV racing car.

The team joins a prestigious list of previous recipients, including the Audi Le Mans LMP1, Porsche 911 GT3R Hybrid and Toyota’s Pikes Peak battery electric powertrain.

Lord Drayson was also presented with his World Electric Land Speed Record certificate from the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, signed by FIA President Jean Todt.
