A MAN has died after a collision in Watlington Road near Garsington.

The collision happened between Pettiwell and Kiln Lane in Cowley, not at the junction with Garsington Road as previously stated by Thames Valley Police

The police were called to the B480 at 5.41am after a Nissan Micra collided with a cyclist.

The man, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.

A 39-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.

The road was closed for several hours between Grenoble Road and Pettiwell but is now open again.

Police officers are appealing for witnesses who saw the vehicle or cyclist before the collision or the incident itself.

Anyone with any information can contact Thames Valley Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
