RESIDENTS across the Vale of White Horse are set to benefit from £2m of savings made by the council.
Vale of White Horse District Council announced on Wednesday it made £2m of savings in this financial year so far.
The council passed their budget for 2014 to 2015 at its meeting in Wantage Civic Hall.
A total of £61,000 will be used to boost trade in Abingdon, Wantage and Faringdon by creating more parking spaces.
Car parking security and lighting will also be improved at other car parks in the district.
The money will also be used to progress plans for a new leisure centre for Grove and Wantage.
The council also decided to build a reserve of £12.3m to invest in future projects including flood relief schemes, on street parking enforcement, and infrastructure improvements.
Council tax for households has also been frozen for a fourth year.
